Job summary

New-College-of-Florid is seeking a research assistant to support the principal investigator in designing, executing, and documenting studies. You will perform literature reviews, manage data, and conduct Python analyses to inform publications and grant materials.

You will also prepare figures and tables, contribute to manuscripts, and present findings in lab meetings and conferences. Training undergraduates and ensuring safety compliance are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting literature reviews and synthesizing findings for grant proposals, papers, and project planning.
• Ability to collect, clean, code, and manage research data following IRB, lab, and data-security protocols.
• Experience performing quantitative and/or qualitative analysis using Python.
• Maintain accurate datasets, codebooks, and version-controlled project files.
• Draft, edit, and format sections of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and technical reports.
• Present progress in lab meetings and conferences and coordinate with collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal investigator with the design, execution, and documentation of research studies.

• Assist with citation management, reference formatting, and journal submission requirements.
• Help prepare IRB/ethics applications, amendments, and continuing-review materials.
• Support grant-related tasks such as progress reports, budget tracking, and literature/justification sections.
• Train and mentor undergraduate research assistants on protocols, software, and lab safety.
• Follow institutional safety and responsible-conduct-of-research requirements.
