Job summary

Georgetown University—Civic Education Research Lab (CERL) seeks a Research Specialist to contribute to grant-related research tasks for LWTP and DOD projects. You will design studies, analyze quantitative data, and evaluate qualitative data on student literacy and civic competencies.

The role involves developing measurement instruments, producing reports, and presenting findings to educators and policymakers. Collaboration with Dr. Owen and CERL staff is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and 5-7 years of related experience.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing competencies.
• Experience with large survey data and experimental design is preferred.
• Proficiency in SPSS and Excel; ability to work independently within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design research projects and data collection plans for LWTP and DOD grants.
• Perform advanced statistical analysis and produce charts, graphs, tables and slide decks.
• Transcribe and analyze interviews; prepare reports for stakeholders and educators.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate CERL research assistants; mentor team members.
