Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced software developer with a focus on medical imaging and computer graphics. Proficiency in Python and strong background in 3D geometry, linear algebra, and numerical analysis are essential.

Experience with VTK or similar toolkits and the Slicer platform for segmentation is preferred. The role involves collaborating with engineering and clinical teams to develop custom applications for 3D modeling and computational planning in congenital heart disease

Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Experience: At least two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Researches and identifies requirements for new/enhanced software applications, functionality, web services, and other research information system needs.
• Works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in iterative assessment, design, implementation, and improvement of enhanced research software capabilities and new efforts.
• Drafts detailed software architecture plans, APIs, operational requirements, in documents, diagrams, mappings, RFPs, project schedules, and technical summaries.
• Creates or participates in creation of software, network, API, and other relevant documentation for design, development, testing, and performance tracking of software development activities and informatics systems processes.
• Maintains knowledge of state-of-the-art software design and development practices.
• Participates in evaluation of applications, supporting systems, and hardware environment to assist IT strategy and planning.
