Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support the Wieland Laboratory within the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological or chemical sciences with relevant experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with 2 years; Bachelor's with 0 years.
• Knowledge of general laboratory procedures and safety practices.
• Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols and maintain accurate records.

Position Summary

The Research Senior Technician will provide technical and operational support to the Wieland Laboratory within the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology. The technician will perform experiments and maintain laboratory systems that support studies in tumor immunology, antigen presentation, and immune regulation, contributing to the lab’s overall research objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory experiments and procedures under the supervision of the PI or senior staff.
• Assist in sample preparation, data collection, and basic analysis for immune profiling experiments.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, and flow cytometers.
• Maintain cell cultures, reagents, and experimental inventories.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety, and regulatory protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biological or chemical sciences or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
