Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a Research Senior Associate to assist and support scientific investigation in the Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role oversees laboratory records, helps train junior staff and students, and collaborates with physicians and collaborators to operate the lab.

The position also aids the PI with grant preparation, publications, and literature reviews, and conducts library research to support ongoing studies in human cancer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support scientific investigation to study human cancer as directed in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
• Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
• Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
• Assist PI and communicate with collaborators and physicians and operate lab.
• Assist PI with grant preparation, including administrative documents such as biosketches, facilities, LOS, and communications with HR and grant managers.
• Assist PI with preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.
• Conduct library research on requested topics by reviewing current literature.
• Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
• Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment.
• Monitor research supplies, including specimens, inventory and initiate procurement requests as needed.
