Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect research data and facilities.
• Collaborate with security, Information Technology, and research teams to address security concerns, incidents, and breaches in research operations.
• Stay updated on security trends, threats, and security technologies to enhance security measures and protect research assets from potential risks and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk analyses to identify security vulnerabilities and potential threats.
• Monitor security systems, access controls, and surveillance technologies to detect and respond to security incidents and breaches.
• Provide security training, awareness, and guidance to research staff, employees, and stakeholders on security best practices and protocols.
• Assist in security compliance checks, audits, and regulatory assessments to ensure adherence to security standards and data protection regulations.
• Participate in security incident response, investigations, and remediation efforts to mitigate risks and protect research assets.
• Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and security logs to track security incidents, response activities, and compliance efforts.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Job Summary

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).

Required Experience Three or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Requirements Masters degree in health sciences, life sciences, or a related field

Preferred Experience 5+ years of experience in research compliance, investigations, education, or research administration within an academic or medical research environment.

Knowledge of federal research misconduct regulations and responsible conduct of research principles.

Experience supporting compliance and/or oversight committees and familiarity with NIH, NSF, PHS, or other federal sponsor requirements related to research misconduct. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a complex regulatory environment.

Prior experience developing training, educational, and outreach materials related to the responsible conduct of research, and knowledge of the Research Integrity and Scholarly Excellence lecture series.
