Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Research Security Analyst to develop and implement a comprehensive research security program, protecting critical research and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

The role requires analytical expertise, independent judgment, and collaboration with the Program Manager on security initiatives, risk reviews, and compliance activities across the institution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Two years sponsored research, conflicts of interest, research integrity, international relations, or national security experience.
• Experience in counterintelligence, supply chain security, security clearance, risk assessments, executive briefing skills, intelligence analysis, due diligence, investigations, procurement oversight, and regulatory review is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for Research Security Program activities.
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated research security program.
• Protect critical research and help secure the academic environment from undue foreign influence.
• Support effective implementation of NSPM-33, HB-127, and GA-48 requirements.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager, Research Security on initiatives and priorities.
• Conduct research security reviews and risk assessments.
• Review OSINT in response to requests from Legal and other departments.
• Apply analytical skills and independent judgment to assess research security risks.
• Facilitate risk reviews related to new faculty hires and funded awards.
• Support reviews of international travel and other activities as appropriate.
• Monitor compliance with university, state, and federal regulations related to research funding.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving program requirements and best practices.
• Participate in national discussions and professional networks.
• Provide informed analysis and recommendations based on trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
