UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a seasoned leader to head research security and export control reviews, shaping institutional policy and ensuring compliance with federal and internal requirements.

You will provide expert guidance to researchers and administrators on regulatory matters related to national security, foreign influence, and international collaborations, and you will develop training and oversight programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in research compliance or export control.
• Knowledge of U.S. export control regulations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC).
• Expert knowledge of applicable federal regulations.
• Preferred: Master's Degree or J.D.
• Export Control Certification in EAR/ITAR Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a subject matter expert in export control (EAR, ITAR, OFAC) and research security regulations.
• Leads complex assessments of research activities, international collaborations, and foreign funding.
• Develops and implement policies, procedures, and training related to research security.
• Manages sensitive or high-risk Technology Control Plans and oversight programs.
• Coordinates institutional response to audits, investigations, and federal inquiries.
• Provides consultation to campus leadership and research teams.
• Represents the institution in external meetings, compliance forums, and regulatory updates.
• Collaborates with other compliance offices and department administrators.
• Supervises or mentors junior analysts and assists in departmental strategy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
