Job summary

Louisiana State University is seeking a Research Security Analyst to bolster its compliance posture with NSPM-33 and the CHIPS and Science Act. The role focuses on identifying internal risks to the research enterprise and delivering training to faculty, staff, and students.

The analyst will lead risk assessments, develop training programs, and support policy development and audits while collaborating with legal, IT security, and HR teams to ensure regulatory alignment and effective safeguards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public administration, security studies, intelligence analysis, compliance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Internal Threat Analysis & Risk Mitigation: assess risks to research environment; monitor risk indicators; collaborate with compliance, legal, IT security and HR; develop risk assessment methods; support incident response; maintain documentation.
• Research Security Training & Program Development: design and maintain training programs; develop guidance for faculty and staff; track completion; stay updated on regulations; advise on best practices.
• Policy & Compliance Support: develop and improve research security policies; guide investigators on security requirements; align with federal and sponsor rules; support audits and reporting.
• Collaboration & Communication: partner with stakeholders to strengthen practices; prepare executive briefings and risk summaries for leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
