Job summary

Vijil, Inc. is seeking Research Scientists and Senior Research Scientists to perform foundational research at the frontier of trustworthy AI in Menlo Park, CA, and Brooklyn, NY.

You will pursue scalable oversight of frontier AI systems and trusted AI agents, publishing in top venues and translating results into Vijil’s platform. You will collaborate with a diverse team, lead research initiatives, and mentor junior researchers, while advancing the state of the art in secure, reliable AI systems

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research track record in ML.
• Strong publications in top ML venues.
• Deep technical foundations in ML, statistics, probability.
• Strong programming skills in Python and DL frameworks; ability to design experiments at scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Drive original research at the intersection of trustworthy ML, generative modeling, and agentic AI.
• Publish findings at top ML venues and present at conferences and industry events.
• Collaborate with external labs and researchers to maintain relationships.
• Translate research into production capabilities within Vijil's platform.
• Senior level: lead research direction, mentor junior researchers, supervise collaborations.
