Job Description

This role will involve planning, development, implementation, and oversight of a disease surveillance system. Qualifications and experience in public health epidemiology are essential.

Duties:

• Assists PI with the planning, development, implementation and oversight of the proposed acute and chronic HIV / HCV surveillance system project for the San Antonio and South Texas area.
• Formulates research methods and suggests options for improving quality; identifies potential problems, recommends and implements solutions for the surveillance system project.
• Works as a liaison with multiple departments and multiple job locations throughout South Texas for the completion of the project.
• Performs data analysis and interprets results. Co‑authors or authors publications and assists with final reports. May present findings at meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

Specific professional Doctoral degree with 5 years related experience. Evidence of peer‑reviewed scientific publications in the field of specialization required.
