Job summary

Nova Ltd. is seeking a highly accomplished Research Scientist to drive exploration and development of advanced technologies for semiconductor materials characterization and metrology in Fremont, CA.

You will combine deep physics expertise with hands-on experiments to shape next‑gen metrology solutions. The ideal candidate has broad X-ray, electron-beam, materials science, and UHV physics expertise, with a strong grasp of how X-ray and particle interactions govern material behavior.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • Extensive research experience in fundamental and applied physics for advanced instrumentation.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor tech, materials, and metrology needs.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating complex experimental systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive advanced research in materials characterization and semiconductor metrology.
  • Develop innovative measurement concepts based on physics, modeling, and experiments.
  • Design testbeds and proof-of-concept systems to evaluate new technologies.
  • Evaluate X-ray sources, optics, detectors, and vacuum environments for metrology.
  • Collaborate across physics, engineering, algorithms, and product development.
