Job Summary

Summer: Drives research projects scientically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership, obtaining funding, writing, or other recognition. May not necessarily receive independent resources; however, their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientic success of the project.

  • oDesign and perform genetic association analysis.
  • oDesign, plan, and execute cell-based, biochemical, and in vivo experiments necessary to validate target genes for therapeutic discovery.
  • oMaintain cell lines and isolate primary cells for use in cell-based assays.
  • oWork with informatics and computational scientists to integrate and interpret screening and functional genomic data sets.
  • oPerform detailed characterization and cellular mechanism of action studies of chemically optimized compounds.
  • oPerform mouse genetic linkage analysis to define genes affecting genome instability
  • oWork with team to design and execute research plans to ensure that critical project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.
  • oTroubleshoot and solve scientific problems independently.
  • oIdentify, investigate and implement new technologies based on scientific needs.
  • oEffectively present results in cross-functional project teams.
  • oDesign, execute, and interpret research experiments.
  • oTrain investigators in techniques relating to small animal surgery, molecular biology, and vector construction.
  • oInvestigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancements
  • oAssist in laboratory management.
  • oContribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums
