The University of Virginia, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, is seeking applicants for a Research Scientist position. The primary responsibilities include research, scholarship, and service to the department, university, and professional community. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at UVA offers a vibrant environment for interdisciplinary research in areas such as machine learning, imaging, cyber-physical systems, embedded systems, communication networks, and sensor systems. The successful candidate is expected to establish an innovative research program building upon UVA's strengths in signal processing, machine learning, and education. Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty and scientists, generating research proposals, promoting scholarship, engaging in service, mentoring students, and supporting ongoing projects with the UVA School of Education and Human Development.
