Novartis Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts invites a laboratory-based in vitro Research Scientist to contribute to target validation, assay development, and drug profiling across exploratory and pipeline projects.

You will work with small molecules and biologics, collaborate across the broader research organization, and help move projects forward toward transformative medicines for patients with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related life science field.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to quickly learn new techniques.
• Knowledge of statistics and computational data analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent laboratory practices and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute biochemical and cell-based assays to support drug discovery.
• Perform in vitro experiments for assay development and profiling of therapeutic leads.
• Apply core laboratory techniques including cell culture, qPCR, siRNA, immunofluorescence, and Western blotting.
• Analyze data and document experiments in the electronic lab notebook.
• Present results at lab and department meetings.
• Assist in writing research documents and publications.
