Job summary

The University of Washington seeks a Research Scientist Engineer 2 for the SeaHub team in the Genome Sciences Department. The role focuses on molecular and cellular work, including DNA sequencing and data analysis, within a BSL2 mammalian cell context.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, you will contribute to AI-assisted genome projects, develop sequencing libraries, and help prepare publications and grant proposals while collaborating across UW and SeaHub partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related field is required.
• Two years of relevant laboratory/research experience is required, including molecular biology workflows, cloning, and tissue culture in a BSL2 environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and perform routine molecular and cellular protocols and tissue culture in BSL2 environment.
• Conduct an independent research project and/or advance an existing project with DNA sequencing and library construction.
• Analyze data and prepare figures/slides; assist with publications and grant proposals, and present at meetings.
• Assist with lab organization and upkeep.
