Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field.
• Two years of DNA benchwork and experience with large datasets required.
• Preferred: MiSeq sequencing, R/Python/Bash programming, kinship analysis.

Responsibilities

• DNA extraction from low-template samples and tissues in high-throughput format.
• PCR for fragment analysis and amplicon library prep in 384-well plates.
• DNA quantification using Qubit or TapeStation; maintain sample inventories.
• Data analysis of mtDNA, STRs, Illumina data using OBITools, QIIME2, etc.
• Train and supervise undergraduate students; document lab work and chain of custody.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and maintain lab notes and storage.
