Research Scientist
UPCI Basic Research Administration - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25003351)
Conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various documentation of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations. Trains undergraduates and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates project development in collaboration with other specialists.
Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.

Lead research projects aimed at improving cancer immunotherapy. The candidate will perform ex vivo expansion and anti-tumor reactivity testing of human T cells. Identification of the target antigens will be elucidated, and the T cell receptors isolated for gene transfer experiments. Gene-modified cells will be interrogated in vitro and in vivo using murine models. A Doctorate degree and 5 years of experience are required.
