Our client is looking for a Research Scientist, who can help to create a first-of-its-kind role on the Digital Health Team to help bring the academic world of AgeTech to our expertise in commercializing products. There are several areas that this role will take part in: helping to scope AgeTech focus areas, providing reviews and synthesis of key topic areas, informing and prioritizing user research, developing a knowledge base and communication process, and establishing and maintaining relationships with key academic researchers and institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage the investigation of relevant academic literature by synthesizing and analyzing key topic areas
- Author and present synthesis reports, concept briefs, and research summaries on specified topics to a cross functional group
- Translate AgeTech research into concise and concrete guidelines for product development
- Understand and communicate age-related issues to inform user experience
- Collaborate closely with User Research, Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams to translate insights into actionable plans
- Stay abreast of the latest research trends, methodologies, and technologies in AgeTech that are relevant to Samsung
- Identify and cultivate relationships with external academic experts and institutions
- Advise on the scientific validity of potential product features and services
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in AgeTech, aging, digital health, and chronic health conditions, including familiarity with the specific challenges and opportunities in designing AgeTech products
- Knowledge of research and research methodologies and experience conducting literature reviews, as well as evaluating and synthesizing complex research findings
- Experience with health technologies, wearables, or SaMD, and working with product development teams in a tech environment
- Experience working at a product-oriented company
- Ability to communicate research findings in a clear way to different audiences using excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or independent environment
- Flexible entrepreneurial spirit, can think creatively, and enjoys working collaboratively to find solutions in either ambiguous situations or within constraints
- PhD, M.D., or Master's degree in a relevant field (psychology, cognitive science, biomedical engineering, gerontology / geriatrics) with a focus on AgeTech and aging populations. Candidates without advance degrees may still apply if they have a track record of working in the AgeTech space and translating academic research to product roadmaps and user experience teams
Compensation: $50 - $70 per hour
