Job description

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a Research Psychologist (Clinical psychologist) whose focus of this position will be the provision of psychological and mindfulness-based interventions for an NIH-funded research study on adults with Tourette Syndrome. The Clinical Psychologist will receive training in the delivery of the two study interventions from the intervention developers through didactic training, observation of study-intervention delivery, and experiential learning by delivering the study interventions in weekly group therapy visits. For the duration of the clinical trial, the Clinical Psychologist will deliver the study interventions, participate in weekly video consultation calls, complete session summary sheets and related forms for study participants in the intervention groups, and participate in study related meetings. The Clinical Psychologist will have the opportunity to be involved with academic presentations and/or authorship on peer-reviewed publications emanating from this work. Due to the casual and remote nature of the position delivering study-related interventions, some evening and/or weekend work may be required.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete necessary Human Subjects Certificates and Training.
  • Complete initial training in study interventions.
  • Provide study interventions on a weekly basis.
  • Adhere to study intervention protocols during the delivery of study interventions.
  • Complete session summary sheet and related rating scales for study participants.
  • Attend weekly video consultation calls on intervention delivery.
  • Attend research team meetings and/or study related meetings as requested.

Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
  • Prior experience delivering mindfulness-based interventions.
  • Proficiency in data entry and standard PC based applications.
  • Flexibility with good time management skills.

  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or M.D in Psychiatry required with emphasis developmental psychology, or school psychology.
  • Must be eligible to be licensed as a psychologist in Maryland and obtain licensure.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience delivering mindfulness-based interventions.
  • Proficiency in data entry and standard PC based applications.
  • Flexibility with good time management skills.
