Research Program Coordinator

We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator who will support Baltimore CONNECT’s daily operations while also serving as a key liaison between the organization and university partners, including faculty and staff affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research (CHSOR) and the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM). Key responsibilities include coordination of Baltimore CONNECT meetings and committees, community-engaged research support, academic writing and dissemination, and direct assistance to organizational leadership.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Organizational Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Support overall operations by serving as a point of contact for partners, assisting with responding to inquiries and ensuring communication.
  • Assist with management of calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating logistics.
  • Support overall organizational workflow by tracking tasks, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the executive director, including meeting prep, email management, and document organization.


Committee Management & Coordination

  • Support administrative for Baltimore CONNECT’s committees, workgroups, and Thursday collaborative meetings.
  • Collaborate with committee leads to develop agendas, take notes, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Maintain updated committee rosters, meeting schedules, shared documents, and tracking systems.
  • Support coordination and progress tracking for committees and workgroups.
  • Coordinate logistics for quarterly Board meetings, including scheduling, preparation of background materials, notetaking, and post-meeting follow-up.


Academic-Community Research & Evaluation Support

  • Provide coordination support for community-engaged research and evaluation activities for the CEAL Roots of Wellness Project.
  • Act as a liaison between Baltimore CONNECT and academic partners at the Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research (CHSOR) and the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM).
  • Assist with generation of scholarly products, including presentations and publications, with Hopkins faculty and staff, and community members as co-authors.
  • Assist with grant writing, data management, manuscript preparations, reports, and presentations.
  • Help format reports, publications, grant writing, and dissemination materials in both academic and community-accessible formats.


Community Engagement & Communication

  • Support the planning and execution of events and programming that engage community and academic partners including Baltimore CONNECT conference, unsung heroes, and community resource fairs.
  • Maintain and update internal communications and shared drives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public health, community-engaged research, or health equity initiatives.
  • Familiarity with East Baltimore neighborhoods or similar urban contexts.
  • Experience using project management tools.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency

Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
