We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator, with excellent communication and organizational skills to oversee the implementation and evaluation of a large multi-component acceptability/feasibility trial of a text-messaging program (text4FATHER) that engages first-time expectant fathers during pregnancy through early infancy.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administrative and scientific implementation of research protocols and programs.
  • Provide day-to-day logistical oversight and coordination of all study activities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with principal investigator, including assisting with IRB and regulatory issues.
  • Ensure adherence to protocols and ensure validity of findings.
  • Develop protocol, manage, and oversee to recruit study participants, including recruitment via social media.
  • Develop and manage systems to recruit and retain participants.
  • Responsible for administration of relevant surveys over the course of the respective studies.
  • Provide oversight for graduate student research assistants conducting participant study recruitment and retention and survey procedures.
  • Oversee participant assignment to study arm and enrollment of intervention participants in the randomized control trial and the related text messaging platform.
  • Oversee and conduct tracking of participants over time, including monitoring of responses in text messaging platform/study email account, and interim and end-of-study in-person and phone follow-up contact.
  • Oversee record implementation and data management for research, using Excel, RedCap, or similar system, and set up / monitor any additional database(s).
  • Oversee production of summary of weekly recruitment activities, including any related study events for discussion at weekly team meeting.
  • Oversee data management and quality control/assurance procedures.
  • Participate in study meetings and provide update on protocol implementation status and make recommendations for and implement operational improvements.
  • Contribute to presentations, manuscripts, and reports.
  • In collaboration with PI, ensure standard operating procedures are followed by study team members.
  • Oversee training of new staff on study procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in related discipline.
  • One years related experience.
  • Prior experience working with fathers or men as part of public health practice with socially disadvantaged populations.
  • Proficient in Excel, RedCap, Qualtrics, engageSpark, or comparable programs.
  • Experience with behavioral clinical trial procedures.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($58,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
