The Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism (MIBAM) is seeking a highly self-motivated researcher who will be responsible for the management and operation of the MIBAM CyTOF core. In addition to basic laboratory skills, the ideal candidate should be a critical thinker, independent, and detail-oriented, have strong a work ethic, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for all of the day-to-day roles of the core as well as quality control and improvements of CyTOF panels offered by the core. The candidate will also interact with internal and external researchers to design, plan, and execute CyTOF experiments. The successful candidate will be able to help drive CyTOF projects from initial design through publication.
Mass cytometry (CyTOF) is a form of single-cell proteomic analysis that employs a modified time-of-flight mass spectrometer to measure relative protein abundance. The overall objective of the MiBAM CyTOF Core is to provide lab support and services for cellular analysis including quality-controlled platforms, validated custom reagents, and analyses of CyTOF data.
The University of Minnesota's Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism is an interdisciplinary team aiming at advancing research on the fundamental biology of aging. Our goal is to discover ways to therapeutically target aging, which will enable extending the healthspan.
