Job summary

West Virginia University Cancer Institute in Morgantown is seeking a Hybrid Research Operations Specialist to support senior leadership and research teams with operational and project management tasks.

The role coordinates infrastructure projects, space management, budget tracking, and vendor relations to advance research initiatives while aligning with WVU priorities and ensuring work‑life balance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in research administration, healthcare operations, higher education administration, laboratory operations, facilities coordination, or project management.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
All qualifications must be met by time of employment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate infrastructure projects, relocations, renovations, and operational initiatives.
Prepare operational reports, summaries, dashboards, and leadership materials.
Maintain records related to facilities initiatives, equipment inventories, and projects.
Assist with budget tracking, procurement, invoices, and expense monitoring.
Support development and implementation of operational workflows and process improvements.
Coordinate collection of institutional data related to research infrastructure and core facilities.
