Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a Clinical Research Supervisor to lead the research staff within our oncology practice. You will ensure compliance with USOR SOP, GCP, and applicable regulations while coordinating with affected departments.

You will coach and develop team members, manage recruitment and performance, and support budget planning and accrual targets. A nursing background and relevant certifications are preferred, with strong communication and multitasking skills valued.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a clinical or scientific discipline required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
• Supervisory experience preferred; experience in clinical research preferred.
• If required in state of practice, current licensure as a registered nurse (RN).
• Current BCLS or ACLS certification for nurses.
• SoCRA or ARCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clinical research staff in accordance with USOR SOP and ICH GCP guidelines.
• Ensures administrative coordination of all research activities with affected departments within the practice.
• Coaches and develops staff; participates in recruitment, interviews, hiring, evaluating performance, and salary changes.

Responsibilities

Supervises the clinical research staff members in accordance with USON SOP and ICH GCP guidelines. Responsible for ensuring at the administrative level that all research activities are coordinated with affected departments within the practice. Coaches and develops staff. Collaborates in the development of research accountability standards and identifies areas for improvement. Ensures site research quality by practicing in compliance with US Oncology Research, Inc. (USOR) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises clinical research staff members in accordance with USOR SOP and ICH GCP guidelines. Responsible for ensuring at the administrative level that all research activities are coordinated with affected departments within the practice.
• Coaches and develops staff. Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, assessing performance, recommending salary changes, and progressive discipline. Enforces adherence to company policies.
• Collaborates in the development of research accountability standards, metrics, and reports and identifies areas for improvement. Collaborates with site research leader (SRL), upper management, and staff in the implementation of action plans designed to improve practice research operations and quality assurance functions.
• Collaborates with the SRL, physicians of the practice, and other research management in the process of study selection for the research program.
• Collaborates with SRL and upper management on the development of research budgets, financial objectives, and accrual targets.
• May promote or market research program to the practice, community, and referring physicians.
• May coordinate research activities with other (non-USOR) bases or sponsors.

Salary Level

$95,000-128,000 annually

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

Education/Training -

• Associates degree in a clinical or scientific related discipline required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Business Experience -

• Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology
• Supervisory experience preferred, experience in clinical research preferred
• If required in state of practice, current licensure as a registered (RN)
• Current BCLS or ACLS certification for nurses
• SoCRA or ARCP certification preferred

Specialized Knowledge/Skills -

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ability to multitask, strong interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Knowledge and proficiency in all basic computer programs, Windows, Excel, etc.
• Special knowledge of GCP and ICH guidelines preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing assessment, clinical medicine, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, hematology, oncology as it relates to clinical trials
