Job summary

Vital Research is an experienced and collaborative research firm seeking a Research Manager to lead complex social science research and evaluation projects that support improvements in government programs and community services. This temporary role supports a diverse portfolio, including the National Core Indicators (NCI) initiative.

This temporary position runs from October 2026 through June 30, 2027, reporting to the Lead Research Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Business, Public Health, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in research, evaluation, or project management (or 7+ years in equivalent professional experience).
At least 3 years of supervisory experience leading teams of two or more employees.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple research and evaluation projects from initiation through completion.
Develop project timelines, establish priorities, allocate resources, and monitor project progress.
Oversee data collection, survey administration, data management, analysis, and reporting activities.
Prepare presentations, reports, and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and research methodologies through innovation and technology.
Coordinate field operations and support the training and oversight of field staff.
