Job summary

In-Q-Tel seeks a Research Manager, Insights, to lead analytic product development on emerging technology, industry, and geopolitical trends. You will coordinate with IQT teams to deliver timely written analyses for government partners and shape topics across technology domains.

Qualifications

• Citizenship required for contractual reasons.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance (active preferred).
• 5+ years as a researcher and writer analyzing emerging tech and national security issues (USA Federal/Gov experience preferred).
• Strong storytelling for government audiences of varying technical levels.
• Experience presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork across diverse stakeholders.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development for one or more functional technology areas in IQT Insights.
• Design and execute research projects delivering timely written analytic products about emerging tech and national security.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to build analytic programs and solicit inputs.
• Publish two or more Insights products per month.
• Respond to feedback from the Research Director, Editorial Director, and other stakeholders.
• Identify gaps and provide forward-leaning thought leadership in target areas.
• Utilize diverse data sources to identify trends and potential impacts for relevant tech areas.

Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, IQT Insights, the Research Manager, Insightsis responsible fordeveloping written, analytic products on emerging technology, industry, market, and geopolitical trends. The Research Manager will serve as the InsightsTeam'sleadanalystfor one or more functional technology topics.This role involvescollaboratingwith stakeholders across all of IQT toidentifyInsightstopics, develop products, and deliver unique,impactfulwrittenanalysisonemerging technology, national security, and global competitiveness to IQT's government partners. IQT Insights is the division of IQT that produces forward-lookingwrittenproducts about emerging technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead Insights product development for one or more assigned functional technology areas
• Design and execute research projects and deliver unique,timely, andimpactful written analytic productsfocused onemerging technology, national security, and global techno-economic competition
• Collaborate with IQT subject matter experts todevelop a program of analysis and solicit inputs for products
• Publishtwo or moreInsightsproducts per month
• Receive andrespond toproduct feedback from the Research Director, Insights, the IQT Editorial Director, and other internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts
• Identify partner knowledge gaps and provide forward-leaning thought leadership in those areas
• Utilize a variety of tools, databases, and other sources of information to identify changes, new activities, trends, trajectories, and impactfor relevant technology areas, industries, and companies
• Represent the Insights team during engagements with existing and prospective IQT partnersand deliver Insights-focused briefings to government stakeholdersas-needed

Qualifications

• Due to contractual reasons, U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance (active TS/SCI clearance preferred)
• 5+ years of experience as a researcher and writer analyzingemerging technology and national security issues(Intelligence Community or US Federal Government experience preferred but notrequired)
• Strong writing skills, specifically storytelling for government audiencesof varying levels of technicalexpertise
• Experience presenting complex information in a clear, concise way
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstratedcommitment toteamwork and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, navigate analytic disagreements, and meet deadlinesBoundless intellectual curiosity and a passion for IQT's mission to support the US national security community.
