Actalent, a global leader in engineering and sciences services, seeks an experienced Research Operations Leader in Orlando. You will oversee departmental studies, coach staff, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to GCP and regulations while driving strategic growth in nursing, biobehavioral, and academic research programs.

The role emphasizes performance coaching, process improvements, and collaboration with investigators and sponsors to meet targets and maintain research integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of research management, clinical research, or research operations experience.
• Thorough understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, and operational planning.
• Experience supporting nursing, biobehavioral, academic, or translational research programs.

Required Qualifications

Certification through SOCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) or ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) required.

Bachelor's degree in a health science, nursing, public health, research, or related field.

Thorough understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements governing human subjects research.

Comprehensive knowledge of research compliance and risk management practices.

Experience managing staff, providing coaching, training, and professional development.

Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, and operational planning.

Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience supporting nursing, biobehavioral, academic, or translational research programs.

Experience with study database development and research management software.

Key Responsibilities

Research Operations & Leadership

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, institutional, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations governing human subjects research.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures supporting nursing, biobehavioral, and academic research.
• Monitor adherence to research compliance requirements and risk management policies.
• Serve as a resource for research staff regarding regulatory and operational best practices.

Participant Recruitment & Study Management

• Develop innovative strategies to recruit and retain research participants.
• Monitor study enrollment and recruitment metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.
• Track study performance and implement process improvements to maximize effectiveness.

Financial & Strategic Management

• Contribute to departmental budget development and strategic planning.
• Conduct monthly financial reviews, monitoring projected versus actual expenditures.
• Track research-related financial performance across studies and recommend operational adjustments when necessary.
• Ensure responsible stewardship of research resources and funding.

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external research partners.
• Collaborate with investigators, clinicians, academic partners, and sponsors to support research objectives.
• Represent the department in research-related meetings and initiatives.
• Ability to analyze recruitment and financial performance data and implement improvements.
• Commitment to research integrity, quality, and compliance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
