The University of Miami is seeking a part-time Research Laboratory Technician to assist scientists in cell biology experiments, PCR, and basic molecular biology techniques in a dynamic lab setting in Miami, FL.

You will monitor experiments, record data, maintain equipment, manage inventory, and help prepare manuscripts and grant proposals while adhering to safety regulations and IACUC protocols where applicable. This temporary role supports ongoing research across our facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's of Science or relevant degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience required.
• Basic molecular biology skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment.

Department Specific Functions

We are looking for a research laboratory technician to assist with cell biology experiments (cell culture flow cytometry), and basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA and RNA purification and quantification. Part of the daily activities also include handling of mice, and performing in vivo mouse experiments as outlined in our IACUC protocols.
