Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year of experience in a lab setting preferred.
• Laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Ability to interact across diverse scientific disciplines.
• Microsoft Office applications proficiency is required.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Must be able to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes, maintains and operates lab equipment.
• Aids scientists with experiments and may perform some experiments or parts of experiments.
• Keeps records and uses computers for research and data analysis.
• Maintains lab supplies inventory and places orders as needed.
• Performs editorial duties and provides proofreading support for manuscripts and proposals.
• Processes, organizes and summarizes data.
• Reports experiment results using software like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
• Ensures safety compliance with lab and regulatory offices.
• Coordinates shipments of laboratory reagents.
• Performs PCR genotyping for animals.
• Performs basic data analyses of cell and animal experiments.
• Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus.
• Prepares and maintains culture media reagents.
• Orders laboratory supplies as needed.
• Attends meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
• Records research procedures and results.
• Adheres to university policies and safeguards assets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
