The University of Missouri-Columbia Department of Surgery is seeking motivated Research Technicians to join Dr. Shiyou Chen's laboratory. This role offers hands-on experience in a collaborative biomedical research environment and contributes to scientific discovery in a dynamic setting.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma. Anticipated hourly salary range is $15.00–$17.00 with University benefits.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations and assist with ongoing research projects.

• Process mouse tissues and conduct histological analyses.

Responsibilities

• The Research Technician will play a key role in supporting daily laboratory operations and assisting with a variety of ongoing research projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Conducting experiments and collecting data
• Assisting with the preparation of research reports
• Managing mouse colonies and perform genotyping
• Performing molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, and immunostaining
• Processing mouse tissues and conducting histological analyses
• Preparing reagents and maintaining cell cultures
• Capturing, analyzing, and/or managing data sets
• Ensuring proper disposal of laboratory waste and maintaining a clean, safe lab environment
