University of Virginia is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician to support research activities in the Pathology department. The role requires hands-on experience with cell culture, RNA/DNA extraction, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate's degree (or equivalent) and 2+ years of lab experience.

Qualificações

• Associate's degree or equivalent required or combination of experience/education
• 2+ years of lab experience preferred
• Education in chemistry, biology, physics, or related field is desirable

Responsabilidades

• Perform laboratory procedures supporting research and related services.
• Conduct cell culture and cryopreservation of cells.
• Execute RNA and DNA extraction, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and microscopy techniques.
• Maintain biosafety and sanitation protocols in the lab.
• Record results accurately and assist data analysis using software.
