Job Summary

Performs a variety of research and research administration activities in direct support of the Department's research faculty and programs. Responsible for managing the overall functioning of the research operation. Serves as a front-line resource for researchers in the Department, acting as liaison to internal administrative units and external sponsors on matters relating to research programs.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for oversight of all lab supply and equipment, purchasing and maintenance.
• Coordinates all regulatory and compliance activities.
• Trains staff in specialized lab techniques.
• Assists with subject scheduling.
• Provides input on strategy, based on knowledge of industry and trends.
• Applies project management techniques to ensure development initiatives stay on track.
• Contributes to scientific literature and may present the data at meetings.
• Carries out independent research projects which involve the execution of highly sophisticated techniques.

The hired candidate will coordinate the general management of laboratory operations and facilities related to the development and analysis of precision molecular therapeutics, including molecular biology, molecular immunology, and cell culture-based research. The hired candidate will also aid in the implementation of projects, the use of specialized techniques in the lab, and the training of new hired candidates in laboratory procedures and research techniques. This position will focus on both operations and research roles to advance projects from funding sources, including the federal government, non-profit organizations, internal funding opportunities. The hired candidate will work closely with a dynamic and collaborative team of researchers in the acquisition and analysis of scientific data.
