Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) offers a cooperative education program with a balance of full-time work terms and full-time study. The IT Operations Team supports ELSYS researchers and engineers, handling helpdesk tickets and system administration tasks.

Successful candidates are pursuing a related bachelor's degree, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and commit to three co-op terms. Security clearance eligibility and US citizenship are required for eligibility on federal contracts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Security Assurance, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science or similar field of study.
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
• Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
• Must be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation
• Be interested in learning IT operations (including but not limited to system administration/deployment, networking, software troubleshooting, and security)
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems, various types of computer hardware, and networking
• A passion for technology, and a desire to grow as an IT professional

Responsibilities

• Manage the helpdesk ticket system and provide IT support to ELSYS employees and researchers
• Assist researchers and engineers with various projects
• Exposure to virtualization, DevOps, Linux, scripting, and server infrastructure
