Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) offers a Cooperative Education program joining the IT Operations Team within the Research IT Department (RITD) for the Spring 2027 semester. Co‑Op students will support ELSYS, manage helpdesk tickets, and gain exposure to virtualization, DevOps, Linux, scripting, and server infrastructure.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in IT/CS related fields, possess a minimum 3.0 GPA, and plan to complete three full‑time co‑op terms before graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Security Assurance, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science or similar field of study.
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
• Must be eligible to participate in a co‑op program and register for co‑op credit with your university.
• Must complete at least three full‑time co‑op terms prior to graduation.
• Interest in learning IT operations including system administration, deployment, networking, troubleshooting and security.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS, computer hardware, and networking.
• A passion for technology and growth as an IT professional.

Responsibilities

• Work in a collaborative environment managing the helpdesk ticket systems.
• Provide IT support to ELSYS employees and assist researchers and engineers with various projects.
• Gain exposure to virtualization, DevOps, Linux, scripting, and server infrastructure.
