Job summary

The University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Engineering and CIO office seek an Information Technology Officer (ITO) to coordinate IT services for the SoE and research centers. The role involves leadership in shared IT services, cybersecurity oversight, and strategic planning to support UNM’s research community.

Ideal candidates will have advanced knowledge of academic IT support, regulatory compliance, and experience leading technical training programs within a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Master’s degree preferred in an area related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead IT liaison with senior administration, faculty, staff, and students to understand client needs and collaborate across the organization.
• Direct, coordinate, and participate in local IT operations, projects, and programs for SoE.
• Advocate for and lead the development of new IT services in support of academics and research; establish SLAs.
