Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Research Intern in Memory Systems Architecture & AI in San Jose, CA. Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in computer architecture, memory systems, AI accelerators, or HPC.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and memory hierarchy; proficient in C++ or Python.
• Ability to work independently and in a research-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate tiered memory architectures to improve AI inference performance.
• Develop methodologies, models, simulations, and prototypes to analyze memory system performance.
• Investigate memory hierarchy optimizations, data placement, and cache management for AI systems.
• Perform quantitative analysis using hardware platforms, simulations, and FPGA-based prototypes.
• Document findings and collaborate with architecture teams on future technology strategies.
