Job summary

Morgan State University, an HBCU and Maryland's preeminent public urban research university in Baltimore, seeks an Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education in the College of Liberal Arts. The role reports to the Dean and leads research, scholarship, and graduate programs.

The Associate Dean will oversee finances, projects, and initiatives to ensure university compliance, while advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and external funding in a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate in a discipline in the College.
• At least three years of administrative experience at the department or college level.
• Outstanding academic credentials commensurate with a faculty appointment in one of the College's units or disciplines at the rank of Professor with tenure.
• A record of faculty and graduate student mentoring and experience in graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating the growth and development of research and scholarships among the faculty and students.
• Providing leadership for graduate education.
• Securing external funding to support research.
• Promoting and developing interdisciplinary partnerships.
• Overseeing management of grants in the College.
• Performing other duties to advance the mission of the College.
