Job summary

Howard University is seeking an Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. The role oversees externally funded research, TA management, graduate funding, and infrastructure to promote faculty research, reporting to the Associate Dean and coordinating with the Office of Research.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate, have administrative experience with external funding, and a record of scholarship and teaching commensurate with tenured full

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
• Record of successful administrative experience in external funding.
• Record of scholarship, teaching, and professional service commensurate with the rank of tenured full professor.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Teaching Assistantships, graduate student funding, and infrastructure for external funding.
• Provide college-level leadership in managing externally funded research for all 17 departments and new centers.
• Liaise with the University Office of Research and coordinate events like the COAS Grants Academy.
• Manage reporting, data collection, and recommendations to the Dean.
