Job summary

WV Higher Education Policy Commission – Kanawha Co. seeks an Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation to lead research design, data collection, and federal reporting for the GEAR UP program.

You will guide evaluation strategies and collaborate with higher education partners and state agencies to improve college access and success initiatives. The role requires a Master’s in education or related field, with three years of relevant experience; a doctoral degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or a research-oriented field; doctoral degree preferred.
• Three years of recent relevant experience required.
• Valid West Virginia driver's license; travel to meetings may be required.
• Experience with data collection, GPRA reporting, and federal measures.

Responsibilities

• Direct all research design, evaluation strategies, and assessment for the GEAR UP program.
• Develop and oversee qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Collect, analyze, validate, interpret, and maintain data for program evaluation.
• Measure outcomes and use data to improve postsecondary enrollment and completion.
• Lead research, planning, and evaluation for the Division of Student Affairs.
• Prepare annual federal reports and monitor grant goals and GPRA measures.
• Collaborate with partners and external evaluators on strategic planning.
