Job summary

Gelest Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, seeks a Research Engineer in Morrisville, PA, to develop new chemical processes and deploy technologies across lab, pilot, and production settings. You will document progress, design procedures, and support safety reviews while collaborating with Process Chemistry, Production, and Quality teams.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in chemical engineering with 2–5 years of hands-on process development experience and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical engineering or related field; 2–5 years in process development in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Master’s degree in engineering is a plus, enabling advanced development work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and optimize chemical processes from lab to pilot scale.
• Lead technology transfer from Product Development to Production.
• Document work, establish procedures, and support safety reviews and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and perform root cause analysis.
• Train Production staff on new processes and equipment.
