Overview

Meta is seeking a Research Engineer to join our Large Language Model (LLM) Research team. We focus on building state-of-the-art LLMs, such as our recent Llama 2, through focused research and engineering. The ideal candidate will have a background in generative AI and NLP, with experience in language model evaluation, data processing, responsible LLMs, LLM alignment, reinforcement learning, efficient training and inference, and multilingual/multimodal modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design methods, tools, and infrastructure to advance large language models.
• Define research goals aligned with engineering needs.
• Conduct experiments, including designing, coding, evaluating, and organizing results.
• Optimize machine learning methods for modern parallel computing environments.
• Collaborate with a global team.
• Contribute to publications and open-source projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Research experience in machine learning, deep learning, or NLP.
• Experience developing scalable machine learning models from inception to impact.
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch.
• Understanding of large-scale software architecture.
