Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering or technical field.
• 12-24 months of directly related full-time work experience
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, engineering analysis, CAD, manufacturing, and experimental testing principles.
• Ability to design, fabricate, assemble, and evaluate mechanical components, test fixtures, and research equipment.
• Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment, instrumentation, fabrication systems, and engineering software applicable to assigned research.
• Ability to independently solve engineering problems and work effectively within multidisciplinary research teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support to Research Institute sponsored programs.
• Mechanical design and analysis, experimental testing, modeling and simulation, data analysis, fabrication, and the design, integration, and operation of research equipment and laboratory systems.
• Support data analysis, fabrication, and operation of research equipment and lab systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
