Job description

Meta is seeking AI Specialists with expertise in the Computer Vision and/or Multimodal domain to join our applied research team in the Creators pillar. We push boundaries across multiple modalities (e.g., video, audio, image, behavior understanding). You will contribute to advancing state-of-the-art machine learning research and apply it to drive product innovation across our Family of Apps.

Research Engineer, Computer Vision - Creators Responsibilities:
  1. Train models for image/video/audio/behavior understanding.
  2. Apply relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build intelligent perception systems that enhance Meta's products and experiences.
  3. Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
  4. Conduct research to enable understanding the semantics of data across various modalities.
  5. Develop custom or novel architectures, define use cases, and create methodologies and benchmarks to evaluate approaches.
  6. Understand how machine learning systems interact with surrounding systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field prior to joining Meta.
  2. At least 2 years of industry experience in Generative AI, Computer Vision, or related fields.
  3. Experience training Computer Vision or related AI/ML models.
  4. Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.
  5. Legal authorization to work in the country of employment at the time of hire, maintained throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant fields.
  2. First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH).
  3. Experience solving complex problems, evaluating solutions, and making trade-offs.
  4. Experience working on product or research teams.
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Compensation:

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Benefits details are available at Meta.
