Job summary

Intermountain Blending & Filling is seeking a Research and Development Technician to assist the R&D team with developing sample product batches and documenting results.

You will perform batch sampling, analyze properties, maintain records, and ensure adherence to GDPs and product standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow precise instructions, and clear written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of metric weights and measures required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear and direct written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks from start to finish.
• Ability to follow detailed processes and instructions.
• Basic computer knowledge; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Ability to work around strong scents and discern color hues.

Responsibilities

• Review batch recipes, weigh ingredients, and prepare containers.
• Assist in formulation prep and evaluate batch stability against standards.
• Conduct physical tests (pH, viscosity, SG, color, odor) to specs.
• Scan SDS/COFA into the system and maintain records.
• Document data and results following GDPs; ensure traceability.
• Perform other duties as needed by the R&D team.

Job description

Intermountain Blending & Filling is looking for a Research and Development Technician to assist the Research and Development (R&D) team with developing sample product batches and reviewing and documenting results.

What You Will Do:

• Review batch recipes, gather and weigh ingredients, and place ingredients in appropriate containers
• Assist Scientists in preparation of formulations and evaluating the stability of batches to meet product standards and specifications
• Conduct physical tests on batch samples including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, color, and odor to ensure product adheres to pre-determined specifications
• Scan Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificate of Analysis (COFA) into the system
• Maintain accurate and detailed records and log all work performed
• Document data and results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
• Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

We're Looking For:

• Associates degree in an Engineering or Science field or a high school diploma with equivalent experience
• Knowledge of metric weights and measures required
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks and complete task from the start all the way through to completion
• Ability to follow specified processes and detailed instructions
• Ability to solve straightforward problems and seek guidance as needed
• Basic knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) a plus
• Ability to work around strong scents and fragrance
