Job summary

The Chickasaw Nation invites applications for a Full Time Research Development Officer to support the Area of Creative Development at the Chickasaw Nation Headquarters, 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on gathering research for media projects highlighting First American history, culture, and civics.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Research Development Officer to join our Area of Creative Development team located at the Chickasaw Nation Headquarters working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

The research development officer is responsible for identifying and gathering research for use in media projects featuring First American history, culture and civics.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and document historic timelines and departmental timelines
  • Prepares ad hoc reports
  • Compile and properly identify images for placement in the tribal archives
  • Prepares historic, cultural and civics related research for use by others, including serving as a researcher to assist writers for a variety of projects
  • Identify and prioritize subjects for historical, cultural and civics research that will be released throughout the year
  • Research and document the accuracy of historical, cultural and civics information for communication projects
  • Maintain digital systems for research/archival purposes
  • Assists with organizing the planning process for strategic growth of all current and developing programs, inclusive of planning, implementation and expansion of programs and services, as well as other entities within the department
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
