Summary

The Institutional Review Board Coordinator is responsible for assisting the IRB chair and administrator with the daily operations of the CNDH IRB. These operations include receiving new applications and reviewing submissions for completeness; correspondence with researchers and IRB staff and members; scheduling and coordinating IRB meetings; and maintaining IRB meeting minutes and accurate records of IRB decisions and activities. The position is primarily located in Oklahoma City with weekly travel to CNMC in Ada.

Responsibilities
  • Screens all new and renewable IRB applications for completeness
  • Contacts and advises investigators in preparation and completion of application process
  • Advises investigators on applicable CNDH IRB policies, procedures, and any other compliance related requirement guidelines
  • Provides education and training on use of IRB electronic management system with the research community
  • Timely communication with investigators/study team regarding IRB submissions, protocol amendments, continuing review and study closures
  • Prepares agendas and materials for IRB meetings
  • Assists with facilitating discussions during IRB meetings, recording decisions, and documenting minutes
  • Maintains communication with IRB members and relevant stakeholders
  • Assists with orientation of new IRB staff and board members, and coordinates any essential IRB trainings, conferences, or workshops as needed
  • Prepares reports on IRB activities and compliance metrics
  • Monitors the IRB's general email inbox and responds to requests for information or other correspondence
  • Maintains and ensures retention of all required IRB records communications and other documents
  • Assists with development of forms and manuals including policies and procedures of the IRB committee
  • Seeks out and participates in relevant learning opportunities to ensure ongoing professional development
  • Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
  • Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
