Binance is seeking a Research Data Scientist to blend rigorous research with production impact in the blockchain ecosystem. You will explore generative AI and LLMs for crypto problems, designing experiments and deploying robust insights to live systems.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in ML/CS with strong Python/PyTorch skills, plus transformer model expertise. Bilingual English/Mandarin is required to coordinate with overseas partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field strongly preferred.
• 0–5 years of research or industry experience in ML/AI; strong academic lab or research internship valued.
• Deep understanding of transformer architectures and LLM pretraining dynamics, including RLHF to RLVR-based reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in generative AI and LLMs for crypto/financial domains, focusing on uncertainty, agent alignment, and multi-agent coordination.
• Design and run rigorous experiments, form hypotheses, compare model variants, and draw statistically sound conclusions.
• Develop post-training methodologies and evaluation frameworks for LLMs in crypto contexts, emphasizing chain-of-thought quality and robustness.
• Explore test-time scaling techniques (reward models, self-consistency, MCTS-based planning) to improve agent reasoning in fast-moving markets.
• Monitor NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL and related venues to apply state-of-the-art methods to Binance challenges.
