Penn State University in University Park, PA, seeks a Research Data Management Specialist to develop and implement a data pipeline and prepare data from a federally funded pediatric nutrition study for hosting on public websites.

You will create data processing manuals, clean and de-identify laboratory data, and collaborate with the Principal Investigator to advise on data analysis using R, Python, Matlab, or similar tools, while training staff on best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Fluent in computing and statistical packages, especially R and Python.
  • Experience with neuroimaging data preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data processing manuals detailing cleaning, storing, deidentifying, and analyzing clinical, behavioral, cognitive, genetic, neuroimaging, and observational data.
  • Clean, identify, and prepare laboratory data for sharing with collaborators.
  • Prepare data processing manuals, data collection instruments, and scoring protocols for hosting on public websites.
  • Advise on data analysis processes using R, Python, Matlab, or other programs.
  • Prepare written reports of data analyses for contributions to publications.
  • Conduct training sessions with staff and students on best practices in data analysis and stewardship.
