Job description

One of our partner companies is currently seeking a Research Data Analyst in California.

This role involves leading data collection, analysis, and reporting initiatives to support institutional research, planning, and effectiveness. As a Research Data Analyst, you will collaborate with internal teams to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that align with organizational goals and enhance student success metrics. Your expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods will support curriculum evaluation, enrollment trends, student outcomes, and accreditation reporting. The ideal candidate is data-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging analytics to inform decision-making in higher education.

Accountabilities :

  1. Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to student success, enrollment, retention, curriculum, and institutional effectiveness.
  2. Design and manage structured research projects using statistical and analytical tools (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS).
  3. Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  4. Support planning, accreditation, and grant initiatives with data analysis and policy recommendations.
  5. Collaborate across departments for program evaluation, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  6. Develop surveys, conduct interviews and focus groups, and review literature and policies.
  7. Maintain knowledge of data systems to ensure data quality and integrity.

Requirements :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Policy, Economics, or related fields.
  2. At least 2 years of experience with higher education data and research tools.
  3. Proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, SAS, SPSS, R).
  4. Experience querying relational databases with SQL or similar languages.
  5. Excellent communication skills to translate complex data for non-technical audiences.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines and work independently or collaboratively.
  7. Preferred: Experience with Qualtrics, Salesforce, LMS, predictive analytics, Python.

Additional details include a competitive salary range of $97,721.88 – $107,756.75 annually, a remote position based in California, and a focus on work-life balance, professional development, and an inclusive culture.
